To the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor
and the right Worshipful the other his Majestys Justices of
the Peace for the City of London and the Libertys thereof at
their Quarter Sessions of the Peace holden for the said City

The Appeal of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Parish
of Saint Michael at Queenhithe London

Sheweth

That on Complaint made the nineteenth day of July last to the Right
Honourable George Heathcote< no role > Esqr . Lord Mayor the the said City of London and George
Arnold
< no role > Esquire two of his Majestys Justices of the peace for the said City and the Libertys
thereof one being the Quorum by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Parish
of Saint Martin Orgars London That Phebe Dare< no role > Widow of Edward Dare< no role > deceased
and their Child Sarah< no role > aged Ten Months were then lately come to reside in their said
Parish not having obtained any legal Settlement there and were likely to become
chargeable thereto unless timely prevented

The said Justices did adjudge the last legal Settlement of the said Phebe Dare and
her Child to be in the said Parish of Saint Michael at Queenhithe London and by Warrant
under their Hands and Seals bearing date the said nineteenth day of July last did cause the
said Phebe Dare and her said Child to be removed out of the said Parish of Saint Martin
Orgars into the said Parish of Saint Michael at Queenhithe

That the Appellants apprehend and are advised that the said Phebe Dare and her
said Child have no just pretence to be settled in or to have been removed into the said Parish
of Saint Michael at Queenhithe in regard that the said Phebe Dare was not the
Lawfull Wife of the said Edward Dare< no role >

Wherefore the Churchwardens and Overseers of the said
Parish of Saint Michael at Queenhithe Do appeal against the
said Order so made as aforesaid for the removeal of the said Phebe
Dare and her said Child into the said Parish of Saint Michael
at Queenhithe and pray to be reimbursed all Money as already
hath been or hereafter shall be expended by them on Account of the
providing for the said Phebe Dare and her said Child since their said
removal by the said Order into the said Parish of Saint Michael
at Queenhithe together also with the Costs sustained by them the
said Churchwardens and Overseers of the said Parish of Saint Michael
at Queenhithe on Account of this present Appeal And the said
Appellants also pray that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the
said Parish of Saint Martin Orgars may be directed to attend at
this Quarter Sessions or such other time as Your Lordship and the
other Justices hall deem meet and to observe such Order as shall
be made in the Premisses

And Your Appellants shall ever pray and soforth
