Whereas Complaint hath been made unto Us two of
his Majesties Justices of the Peace for this City and the
Liberties thereof one being of the Quorum by the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Giles
without Cripplegate London That James
Newman
< no role > and Anne< no role > his Wife and Son an Infant aged
theFour Months or thereabouts not yet Baptized are
lately come to reside in your said Parish not having obtaind any
Legal Settlement there and are likely to become chargeable
thereto unless timely prevented Which Complaint We judge to
be true and for as much as it appears unto Us by the Oath of
the Sd: James Newman< no role > that in May 1722 he was bound to and did
Serve one Year & Upwds: part of his Apprentiship with Laurence
Ledget
< no role > Jack Smith in the Sd Parish of St. Mary Le Strand in the
Sd. County of Middlesex ,
And no other Subsequent Settlement appearing unto Us We the
Said Justices are of opinion and do Adjudge the last Legal
Settlement of the said of the Sd James Newman< no role > Ann< no role > his Wife &
their Son an Infant aged 4 Months not Yett Baptized
to be in the said Parish of Saint Mary Le Strand in the County
of Middlesex And that thither to they ought by Law
to be sent

These are therefore in his Majesties Name to Will and
Require You the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish of Saint Giles without Cripplegate
London forthwith to Remove and Convey the said James
Newman Ann his wife and their Infant Son
from and out of your said Parish unto the said Parish of Saint Mary
Le Strand in the County of Middlesex
And them deliver unto the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the Poor there or one of them Who is and are hereby required
to Receive and Provide for them according to Law Given
under our hands and Seals this Seventh day of February
one Thousand. Seven hundred and Thirty four
