Benjamin Brooke< no role > of Saint Lawrence Jury London Twister being Sworn
and Examined before Sir William Billers< no role > Knight and Alderman of the
City of London upon his oath saith That on Tuesday the Sixteenth of
this instant October he this Informant came in Company with One William
Perry and another Person unknown to this informant who deal in [..]
Buying and Selling Horses, And told the said William Perry< no role > and the
other Person That he this Informant had a Horse to dispose of Upon
which the said Perry replyed that he could help this Informant to a
Person to Buy the said Horse (if this Informant would give him
Five Shillings) And immediately after brought to this Informant
One George Phillips< no role > in Order to buy the said Horse but upon a
Treaty the said George Phillips< no role > Denyed Buying this Informant
Horse But said he would Exchange with this Informant for another
Horse if this Informant would Give him Five Guineas in
Exchange But upon a Treaty the said George Phillips< no role > came
to An Agreement with this Informant, That if this Informant would
exchange Horses and give a Note of Hand for Three Pounds
payable Six [..] Weeks after Date and Give One Shilling
in Earnest or in part of Payment this Informant should have
the said George Phillips< no role > 's Horse for the term of Six Weeks upon
likeing and if this Do Informant did not then approve of the
Bargain this Informant should be at Liberty to return the said
Horse And have his own Horse and Note of Hand Back again
And that the Bargain should be Voyd Upon which this Informant agreed
to such Proposall And gave a Note under his Hand for Three Pounds
Payable Six Weeks after Date And gave One Shilling in Earnest
or in part of Payment And immediately exchanged their Horses
and Moved their Sadles and Bridles and Delivered their Horses
to each other But upon this Informants insisting to have
the said Horse Tolled or entered in the Markett Book the
said George Phillips< no role > Damned this Informant and said heath [..]
either pay down the whole Money or he this Informant should
not have either of he Horses And abused this Informant in
a Vile manner Upon which this Informant said he in sister
that
