This Examinant on his Informacon on Oath
Saith That on Tuesday Night last being the 18th.
of this Instant May as this Examinant was [..]
comeing to London from his Fathers & Mothers
House at Walden in Sussex one Andrew Ferguson< no role >
Overtook this Examinant upon the Road between
Nuttle and Witchcross the said Ferguson being
then mounted upon a black Horse or Maze with
a Starr in the fore head and the said Ferguson
said to this Examinant take up that Horse or
Mare whatsoever it is, and let us ride to
London together. And this Examinant further
Saith That the said Ferguson tent this Examinant
a Bridle and got off his Horse or Mare and
helped this Examinant [..] to Catch a Dark brown
Mare with a bald Face, which they accordingly
did and this Examinant Mounted the same &
rode together With the said Ferguson [..]
from Ashdown Forrest where they Stole the said
Mare to East Grinstead in the said County of Sussex
but the said Mare not being able to keep pace
with the said Ferguson Horse he the said
Ferguson rode away from this Examinant And
this Examinant further Saith That on Wednesday
the 19th. day of this Instant May he this Examination
did Sell the said Mare to Jeremiah Booth< no role >
at the
Sign of the Half moon at Broad Green near Croydon
and took half a Crown as Earnest
