Christopher Nicholls< no role > at the Golden Lyon & Crowne in Barbican who keepes
a gold Smiths Shop there & RobertRawsonRawlinson< no role > his Servt Severally
make oath [..] & first this Dept Rawlinson Saith that Eliz. Browne< no role >
now present came to his Said masters Shop this afternoone about one o'Clock
& produced to him appear with Seven Small Stones & askt what they might
be & he then carryed them to his master up Stairs & delivered them which the
sd Chr Nicholls< no role > who sayes he then came downe to the sd Eliz Browne< no role > &
askt her what She must have for them She demanded Six Shillings, & being
askt how She came by them Said She found them in Moorfields & being
askt where She lived She answered at Mr Robinson a Velvet weaver ( & who
as She Sold tooke in pawnes at windmill hill whereupon he ordered Rawlinson
to goe with her & Rawlinson further Saith That when She came within
a few doors of the place where She Said Mr Robinson lived She refused to goe
further with him & Struggled to get from him & then Said She would goe
a private way thither to avoid ye mobb but carryed him a great way
about upon which he Stopped her & Sent for his master, & the sd Nicholls
Sayes that ye sd. Seven Stones are Small Diamonds which he suspected She did not
come honestly by & thereupon caused his ware to goe with her as aforesd. [..]
