William Priest< no role > of London Brasier maketh Oath
That Deft Fancourt is Indicted for Forgery in London
and has absconded from Justice two or three Sessions and
is now a prisoner in the Fleet as this Dept is informed
and therefore this Dept has been obliged to Sue out his
Maties Writ of Heas Corpus Directed to ye Warden of ye
Fleet, to bring the Deft into Court to plead to ye Sd
Indictme, which Writ of Heas Corpus [..] has been delivered
to the Clerk of ye papers in the Fleet who says he
has made a Return thereof & delivered the Same
toRichd Bishop< no role > the Tipstaff , to whom this Dept
has Applied himself desiring the Said Fancourt might
be Apprehended & brought to Court pursuant to ye Sd Writ
And this Dept Saith that the Sd Bishop returned for
Answer that he can't find the Sd Deft Fancourt but
believes he had wokd himself up in his own house
and by such absconding himself in prevented
makinganyReturn of the sd Heas Cropus or words
to that effect.
