Whereas complaint hath beene made unto us Whose hands and Seales are
hereunto set two of her Majesties Justices of the Peace of the Citty of
London (Quorum Unus) by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore
of the Parish of St. Giles without Criplegate London that Martha
Quickleborough
< no role > Wife of Joseph Quickleborough< no role > now in her Majesties
Service at Sea with two young Children to say Martha< no role > aged two years
six Monthes or thereaboutes, and Mary< no role > aged three monthes or thereabouts
is come into the said Parish endeavoreing to gaine a Setlement there
without giveing Notice in Writeing of the place of her Abode to the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the same Parish as by law is
required and is likely to become chargeable to the said Parish And for as
much as Oath is made before us by Martha Quickborough aforesaid that
the last legall Setlement of her Husband Joseph Quickleborough< no role > aforesd [..]
was in the Parish of St Austin where he lived one yeare a hired Servant
the yeare with Thomas Jennall< no role > in the Old change Dyamond cutter . These
are therefore in her Majesties Name to Will and require you the Officers of
the Parish of St Giles without Criplegate London Some or One of you to take
passe and convey the said Martha Quickleborough< no role > & her two Children
aforesaid to the Parish of St. Austin and there deliver Them to the
Churchwarden & Overseer of the Poore of the same Parish or One of
Them Who are hereby likewise in her Majesties Name required to receive
and provide for Them according to law, and hereof you nor any of you
are to faile, given under our hands and Seale this Sixth day of August
Seaventeene hundred & Six
