To the Right Honoble . Sr . Francis Child< no role > Knt . Lord Maior
of the City of London And to the Rt. Worll. his Maties. Justices of the
Peace in the Generall Quarter Sessions Assembled

The humble peticon & Appeale of the Churchwardens & Overseers
of the Poore of the Parish of St. Saviours in the County of Surry

Sheweth


That one John Cocke< no role > with his wife & 3 children by virtue of a Warrant under
the hands & Seales of twoe of his Maties. Justices of the Peace within the City
of London (one being of the Quor) was brought by the Churchwardens
& Overseers of the Poore of the Parish & St. James Dukes place unto yor.
Petrs. to be provided for on the Oath of the said John Cocke< no role > That his last
legall settlement was in the Parish of St. Saviours where hee was reteyned
as Covenant Servant for three yeares with one Robert France< no role > Cordwainer
And hath had noe other settlement since Whereas in truth the said John Cocke
removed out of the said Parish of St. Saviours in February 1682/3 And never
inhabited there since And for 4 yeares past hath dwelt in the Parish of St.
James Dukes places where hee hath paid to the Scavenger And beene placed to
dwell in one of their Almes houses And hath been releived by the said
Parish as an Inhabitant

Yor. Petrs. therefore humbly Pray yor. Honors & Worpps.
to order the Churchwardens of St James Dukes place
to appeare before you And to hear them all in the prmisses
And to Quash the said Warrant And send the said
John Cocke< no role > with his wife & children backe to the said Parish
of St. James Dukes place where he was settled by the Lawe
