The humble Peticon and Appeale of the Churchwardens of
the Parish of St. Martins Vintrey London

Sheweth

That by virtue of a Warrant under the Hands and Seales of twoe of his Maties.
Justices of the Peace of the City (one being of the Quor) dated 14th. November 1699
One Evan Evans< no role > was brought to yor. Petrs. by the Churchwardens of Alhallowes
Lumbard Streete upon his Oath That the last legall Settlement was in yor. Petrs.
parish where hee lived with Sr . John Sweeteapple< no role > as a hired Servt . for a yeare and
a Quarter whereas in truth the said Sr. John never was a settled Inhabitant in the said
Parish of St. Martins Vintrey nor paid any Scott or Lott therein Only had the use of
Vintners hall in the said parish for about three Quarters of a yeare in the tyme of his
Sheriffalty And dureing all that tyme kept his house and Trade in Lumbord Street in the
parish of Alhallowes Lumbord Streete in the Ward of Langborne where he was then and
since hath beene chosen and served a Comon Councill man for the said Ward

Yor. Petrs. humble request is That your Honour and Worpps. will
be pleased to hear them on their Appeale in the prmisses And to send
the said Evan [..] Evans< no role > to the Churchwardens of Alhallowes Lumbord Street
where his Master Sr . John Sweeteapple< no role > was and is a settled Inhabitant
