The humble Peticon and Appeale of the Churchwardens
& Overseers of ye Poore of ye Pish of St. Butt wth. out Algate London

Sheweth

That by Virtue of A Warrant or Order under the hands & Seales of twoe
of their Maties. Justices of the Peace within this City one being of the Quor
a newborn female Children the third of May last was sent to yor. Petr. to
be Pvided for upon the Oath of one Francis Finney< no role > that the said Child
was found said in A hand baskett in yor. Petr. said Parish of St. Butt
wth. out Aldgate in devonshire Square which divideth the bounds of their
said Parish from the Parish of St. Butt Bishoppsgate whereas in truth
the posts to which the said gate hangeth And the ground sells on which
the said hand baskett was sett laid & found is 12 inches broad and lyeth
wholly in the Parish of St. Butt wth. out Bishoppsgate And the said Posts
are marked on the inside of them wth. out the said Gate wth. the Markes
of the Parish of St. Buttolphs Bishopsgate

Yor. Petrs. therefore humbly Pray yor. Honors. &
Worpps. to hear them in the Prmisses and to order the
Said Female Child to be sent to the Churchwardens of
the Parish of St. Butt Bishoppsgt. in wth. Parish the
said Child was laid and found to be by them Pvided for
