John Burton< no role > the Defendant in this prosecution and John
Devine
< no role > of Whites Alley Chancery lane London Gentleman Severally
make Oath and first this Deponent John Burton< no role > for himself saith
That being Charged on the thirteeth day of April instant before Sir
Sampson Wright< no role > Knight One of His Majesty's justices of the peace
in and for the County of Middlesex with feloniously making and
forging and feloniously Publishing as true in the City of London
A certain bill of exchange purporting to be drawn by the Right
Honorale Sir John goodricke< no role > Bart On Messrs. Hoares Bankers
Fleet Street for the Payment of Eight hundred pounds and made
payable to the Order of John Smith< no role > on demand dated London
the first day of April One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty
nine with intent to cheat and defraud the said Messrs
Hoares He this deponent caused to be Sued out at the office
of Mr. Shelton the Clerk of the Arraigns of this Honerable Court
A Writ of Subpana as Testificandum And this deponent Saith
That John Jones< no role > of the parish of Christ Church in the County of
Surry Gent. being a necessary and material Witness for this
Deponent he this deponent requested the other deponent John
Devine
< no role > to go to the Lodgins of the said John Jones< no role > in George
Street Blackfryars Road in the Parish of Christ Church in the County
of Surry aforesaid on Tuesday the Twenty first day of April instant
to Subpena the said John Jones< no role > And this deponent saith That
he hath been informed by the said John Devine< no role > (And which
this deponent believes to be true) that he the said John Devine< no role >
did on the said Twenty first day of April instant go to the house
of Mr. James Martlake< no role > in George Street Black Fryay Road aforesaid
to Subpana the John Jones< no role > but that the said John Devine< no role > was informed
by
