John Jones< no role > William Eastward and Thomas Denton< no role > the
above named Prisoners And John Bayner of Downing Street
Westminster in the County of Middlesex Taylor , Jointly and
Severally make Oath as follows And first these Deponents John
Jones
< no role > William Eastward< no role > and Thomas Denton< no role > for themselves
say That Samuel Jackson< no role > of Saint Georges Row Saint Georges
Fields in the County of Surry Plater is a Material Witness for these
Deponents and without his Testimony these Deponents can not with
Safety take their Trails at this Sessions And these Deponents
further say that being informed that a Bill of Indictment was found against
thereon Friday the twenty Fourth day of April Instant and not sooner
these Deponents caused a Subpena to be Issued in Order to serve the [..]
said Samuel Jackson< no role > with a Copy thereof to Compell him to give Evidence
on their behalf and have caused all due Diligence to be used to serve the
same but without Effect and which said Subpena is hereunto annexed
And these Deponents lastly say that the Bill of Indictment not being
found against them untill Friday last as aforesaid these Deponents have
not had time to prepare their Defence on their Trials, And this
Deponent John Bayner< no role > for himself Saith that he did on Friday last
the twenty Fourth day of April Instant go to the Lodgings of the said
Samuel Jackson< no role > in Saint Georges Row Saint Georges Fields aforesaid
in Order to serve the said Samuel Jackson< no role > with a Copy of the said Subpence
and was there in formed by Mrs. Bignoll the Landlady of the said House
that the said Samuel Jackson< no role > do is Lodge there but that he was gone to
Liverpool on Business and would not return untill the latter end of May
or the beginning of June next and which information this Deponent
believes to be time

in the Old Bailey this 27th day of
April 1789
