holden for the County of Middlesex at Justice Hall in
the Old Bailey in the Suburbs of the City of London
on Wednesday the fourteenth day of January in the
Twenty ninth year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord
George the third King of Great Britain Etc James

Essex Cordwainer Samuel Goddard< no role > late of the same
Labourer Thomas Crisp< no role > late of the same Labourer
Henry Lockett< no role > otherwise Smiler< no role > late of the same Labourer
and James Harper< no role > late of the same Labourer were and
Stand indicted for unlawfully assaulting Samuel
Drawbridge< no role > an officer of Excise of Our said Lord the
King at the said Parish of Abberton in the said
County of Essex on shore in the execution of his
Office in Suring and Securing Twenty Gallons of
Foreign Brandy and Twenty Gallons of Foreign
Gineva and for hendering opposing and obstructing
him in the execution of his said Office and duty

I do hereby Authorize You to enter
a Nolle Prosequi as to the said James Harper< no role >
and to cause all proceedings on the said Indictment
as against the said James Harper< no role > to be forth with
discharged And for so doing this shall be Your
Warrant. Dated this Twenty fifth day of February
1789.
