taken before me this 19th day of December 1788
Who being upon Oath says, and first the said William
Wilkinson< no role >
for himself saith that between the hours of four and five
o'Clock in the afternoon of Tuesday last a person now present
who calls himself Dominick Viriot< no role >
came to this Informants
Shop in Holborn
aforesaid and said that he had an Order
for some Silk Stockings to send into the County and desired to
See some black and White stocking which this Informant
Shewed him That said Viriot looked fifteen pair of
black and white Stockings and agreed to give Ten
Pounds sixteen Shilling's for the same That said Viriot
then delivered to this Informant the Card now produced
on which are the following Words Viz.
a Dominick Viriot Wire Worker
and Fender Manufacturer
"Wholesale and Retail
No. 9 Burleigh Street Strand London
"
and desired this Informant to send said Stockings to
that place That Informant then packed up said Stockings
and delivered them to the said William Hyde< no role >
his Servant
desiring him to deliver them [..] according to the direction
aton the said Card and bring back either the Money
on the Goods And the said William Wilkins< no role >
on for himself
saith that he accordingly carried the said Parcel of
Stockings
