the said County Shipwright and James Poole< no role > apprentice to his father Charles
Poole
< no role > of Sd. Ann Middlesex foreman Caulker to the said Messr Almon
Hill and Robert Mallish< no role > taken this 14th day of Jany 1789 Before us Two of His
Majestys Justices of the Peace in end for the said County

John Bevis< no role > on his oath saith he is Watchman to Almon Hill< no role >
and Robert Mellish< no role > That this morning near the hour of
Four the Door of the Warehouse where the Caulker Stores are
lodged was safe and in about half an hour after he seeing
said Door open and hearing a Noise like the Jingling of Iron
in said Warehouse he called to William Burrell< no role > to come
to his Assistance says they went into the Warehouse and
found the person present who saith his Name is Benjamn.

< no role > concealed behind some cash at the saith Corner of the same having in his Possession
The Two Bass. Knife, Scissars and line produced and
near the Door way he found the Rope and chains produced
the Rope cut as it now is

That the Rope and Chains produced were lately safe in their
warehouse not cut as they now are, And that he found the
Richlock Keys and Marlinspike producedto foundthis afternoon in the South
Coroner of said Warehouse where John Bevis< no role > said he found

Benjamin Bird< no role > says [..] yesterday afternoon he went with said bags
to buy potatos that between six and seven at night he went into Mess Hill
and Mellish Ship Yard to look for work and when he came back the gates
were shut he sit himself down fell fast asleep when he awoke being very
told seeing a Warehouse Door open he went in pulled the door two and
after some time hearing the men coming he had himself to prevent his
being taken
