Depositions taken on View of the Body of
John Wilkinson< no role > laying Dead at the Parish
of Saint Botolph Aldgate in the County of
Middlesex the 17th day of July 1789 before
Edward Walter< no role > one of the Coroners for
the said County

Moses Benjamin< no role > of No 12 Sun Yard Nightingale
Lane Broker being Sworn Saith That on Thursday
last about Seven in the Evening as Deponent was
Sitting in the Tap Room EWof the Kings Arms Publick House in East Smithfield EW a woman of the Town
came in and Sat down by him and soon
afterwards William Powell< no role > also came in
and sat down in the same Box and asked
such Woman what she did there upon which
she said she was a Prisoner and asked him to
Treat her which he did with a Pint of Beer
That Powell then said he would cut the Liver
and Lights of any of the Blood selling Thieves
meaning as Deponent understood the Thief
Takers who Attended such House and added they
had once Stopped him before and he made use
of many horrid Expressions upon which
Deponent being Apprehensive of Danger and
thinking Powell might believe what the
Woman had said which was a falstly said
