The Examination of David Mackintosh< no role > . Edward Wilson< no role > & Jo-
seph Curtis< no role > taken before me this 16 day of Augt. 1789. (on Oath
& Joseph Elliot< no role >

David Mackintosh< no role > says, last night near Twelve
O Clock as he was going along Tothill Street towards Westmin-
ster Abby Three Men Dressd like Soldiers with side Arms met
him that one of the Men now present that Calls himself
Francis Burrows laid hold of this Infort. by the Arm and
asked him were he was going that he answerd home yt said
Francis Burrows said I must see what you've got & put his
hand in this Infort. Right hand Waistcoat pockett, took out Six
Shillings & Six pence saying at the same time Dam you if you are
not quiet I will Knock you down upon this Infort saying dont
take my Money Francis Burrows again threatned if he was not Quiet
to knock him down yt the sd three Men ran away through a
Court into the Almonry that this Infort followed, them yt.
sd Francis Burrows< no role > Snatcht the Hat of this Infort. head &
Knockt him down that upon this Infort crying out Watch
the Watchman came & took the sd. Francis Burrows< no role > into Cus-
tody who never was out of sight of this Infort. that the Man
now present that calls himself Richd Stroud< no role > was one of the
sd Man that Robbd him & was the Man that took, his Hat
from sd Francis Burrows< no role > and Costly that this Infort feet the
Money in his Pockett a few Minutes before he met the sd three
Men.

Ed Wilson< no role > says that last night between twelve & one O.-
Clock he saw David Mackintosh< no role > & three Soldiers in the Almon
-ry that some words [..] which this Infort did not understand yt
Frances Burrows one of the said Men took of David Mackin< no role >
-tosh's Hat & push or Knocked him down that Richd. Stroud< no role > .
took the Hat from Francis Burrows< no role > & ran away with it
that, this Infort took Francis Burrows & upon the Watchman
coming sd Francis Burrows< no role > Pushd him against ye Wall

John Curtis< no role > (a Watchman of St Margarett ) Says that
near One o Clock this Morning hearing the Cry of Watch he
went to the Great Almonry saw David Mackintosh< no role > on the Ground
and three Soldiers by him with side Arms that sd David Mack
-intosh. one'd give me my Hat that Richd Stroud< no role > pushd this Infor
mant away and Snatcht the Hat from Francis Burrows< no role > & ran
away with it that this Infort. assisted in taking Francis
Burrows to the Watchhouse where David Mackintosh< no role > said he
had been robkd of Six Shillings & Six pence by Francis Bur< no role > -
rows & the other two Soldiers

Joseph Elliot< no role > hatrole says about one OClock a
Woman brought the Hatt now Produced to the Watch house said she had found it & yt
one of the Soldiers was in the Sancheary that the Infort. found Richd Stroud< no role >
there that upon this Infort telling him he must go with him to the Watch house
sd Richd Stroud< no role > drew his Bayonet half out but was [..] doing Mischief by this
Infort wresting it from him then took him to the Watchhouse
