Oath this 31 July 1789 who being on their Oaths say and first the said Thomas Ayles
for himself saith. The Copper produced is his and said Partners property and is of the
value of Three pounds

on his oath saith the Copper produced in the property of Messrs.
Reavely and Ayles. That this morning about the hour of Four he went to the said Yard to
go to work and in the said Yard he found the person present who says his name is John

and the said Copper about Ten feet from the oil house door in which
house it had been deposited for safety underlock and key. which lock lay on the
Ground hear with the Staple which had been drawn Says she took him into Custody
brought him out of the Yard to church Street
where he endeavoured to escape

by the Yard the gate was open he went in and round the Yard is he was coming out again

met him and detained him that the reason he wanted to get away
was because Anderson would lay hold of him
