in Consequence of which the Informant having received from
Phillips a Cotton Vallent which Phillips said he had taken
out of Daniels Box Informant went to make enquireywho
to whom the Vallent belonged and found Mr. James Croft< no role > who
owned the same and said it had beenstolen from his house
taken away during the fire about Ten in the Evening after the
Fire Phillips came again and told this Informant that
two of the [..] Persons Concerned were then at the Red
Lyon on this Information Informant went to the
Watchhouse and taking assistance with him went to
the Red Lyon and finding Hawkes and Phoebe Wright< no role >
he took them into Custody and Searching the Box in
which Daniels Cloaths were he foundthatanother Vallent
Corresponding with that which Phillips had brought him
when Informant took Hawkes and Phoebe Wright< no role > , Hawkes told
Informant that Whitfield had the Carpet and that he Whitfield
lodged in Mays Court or Mays Buildings, when Informant went
to Richmond Street to Hawkes's Girl's Lodging he went up
Stairs and found Thos. Smith in Hawkes's Girl's room and in
the said room he also found the bundle of Linnen now produced

Lanthorn Bearer of St. James Westminster and was called upon
by Mr. Richardson, and went with him tothedifferent Places
before mentioned, who found a Vallets now produced in the Box
of Daniels at the Red Lyon in Market Lane
