The Information of Jonathan Barker< no role >
of Essex Street Strand taken on Oath before
me this 15th. day of June 1789.

Who being on Oath says that last Night about Eleven
o Clock as he was going alongin the Strand in his way home near
Somerset house he was Surrounded by four or five persons at
which time he felt something like a weight in his Right hand
Coat Pocket that Informant turned himself round and then
Catched the hand of the person now present who calls himself
William Soames< no role > in his said Coat pocket this Informant
Seized hold of him upon which he endeavoured to get away
but Informant pursued him and called the Watchman and
had him taken to the Watch house The Constable then asked
this Informant if he had lost any thing and upon his Search
he discovered that he had been Robbed of his Watch And
this Informant further says that he is very sure he was robbed
of his said Watch at the time he wasrobbedsurrounded by
the said persons as aforementioned as he felt that his Watch
was safeina few minutes before he was so surrounded
by said persons.
