this 14th day of Feby 1788 Before me One of His Majestys Justices of the
Peace and for the said County who being on Oath say and first
the said Ambrose Warffe< no role > for himself saith The Carpet produced is
of the Value of Three pound and is his property and was safe this [..]
Afternoon in his Shop situate as aforesaid between the Hours of
Two and Three. Joshua Gray< no role > for himself saith This afternoon
about the hour of Three he saw in Cable Street in the said Parish The Parson present who
says his Name is John Young< no role > in Company of another carrying the Carpet
produced on his back That knowing the said John Young< no role > to be a Suspecious
person he pursued him and took him with the Carpet produced upon him
near to this office
