The Information of Berney Shield< no role > at Mr. King hear the
Saw Mill Yard St. Ann Middlex Labourer taken this 18th
day of feb 1788 Who being on Oath Saith Yesterday Morng
Between the House of One and Two as he thinks as he was walking
along Ratcliff Highway in the Parish of St. Paul Shadwell the
Woman present who says her Name is Eliza Cunningham< no role >
crossed the way upon him dont know what she said orded except
her putting her hand into his right hand Breeches pocket and
took Ten Shillings in Silver Wropt up in a piece of paper in a piece
out of his said pocket
of Silk says he immediately seized her demanded his mony that
she said she did not take it that he called out Murder Shieves
That John Orange< no role > and Thomas Cole< no role > came to his Assistance who
did take Charge of her And is Certain he was not so much in Liquor
but that he knew what he did And that the said Eliza took
his said mony as aforesaid

Eliza Cunningham< no role > says yesterday Morning what time she cannot tell
as she was Coming home between New Gravel Lane and Old Gravel Lane
Barney Shield laid hold of her and put his hand up her Cloaths saying
he would give her any thing to go to the Corner of the Watch box with
him that he set down and pulled her along side of him that she called
out Murder and Watch when he let her go. That a Watchman came
up who went to take hold of him That John Smith< no role > came to Assist
her and bed Shields to let her go if the Woman had done any thing
to him he ought to Charge the Watch when Shield said it Smith
belonged to her he would fight him for her. That John Orange< no role >
and Thomas Cole< no role > were present. says she was marked and no
mony found upon her
