Middlesex to wit


[..] Thomson on his oath saith he has employed Samuel Wiggins< no role > to Watch his
[..] for about two Months and that he was ordered to Watch a Barge Roaded with Barley
[..] at Henleys wharf Hermitage Wapping and that the Barley produced in similar to that
Barley with which said Barge was laden with on Thursday night last and that he has had
frequent complaints of Deficiencys of corn that he has been entrusted with and at a Loss
how to account for the same that he has not a doubt of the said Barley being his property
and is of the Value of One Shilling and six pence

the said Parish on his oath saith Yesterday Morning between the hours of Five and six
being in Ratcliff Highway near Artichoke hill in said Parish he saw the Parson present who
saith his name is Samuel Wiggins< no role > coming from Virginia Street way with Two bags who
he stopt and asked what he had not that he answered corn out of a Barge that he had been
Watching that night that he stopt him suspecting the same was Stolen - Says he this day went
with said Two Bags containing Barley with Mr. Samuel Thornton< no role > to have the same measured
which measured Three Perks and then put it all together in the one Sack in the presence
of the said Mr. Thornton which is now produced
