an Anchor a Mile from the Shore That
soon after a Boat came from the Shore and
told them to out their Cable for the Druid's
Boat was in the Bay That immediately
after said Boot came near the Lugger
and said Carter hailed her two or three
Times to Keep off and there fired two or
three Musquits and that a Person now
present who calls himself Robert Ratcliff< no role >
did the same That said Carter called the
Luggers Company to come oft and help to
Keep off the Boats and threatened to fire among
them if they would not That the Men
refused to give Assistance in Keeping
off the Boats, but offered to make Sail
and get away and begun immediately
to hoist the Sails for that purpose That
at this time this Informant was at the
Helm and is very sure no other Person
was aft the Lugger but Carter, Ratcliff
and this Informant except William
Bean
< no role > who was hawling aft the Mizen
Sheet and one or two other who came
to his Assistance and that no other
Person fired at the Boats but said
Carter and Ratcliff That when the
Druid's Men attempted to come on
Board the Lugger they were opposed by
Carter and Ratcliff only That
Ratcliff ahd a Curtass with a Brass
Handle That while said Bean was
hawling
