Middlesex to Wit


The Information of Robert Scofield< no role > of Long
Acre
< no role > Coach Broker taken before me this 18th
day of September 1788

Who being upon Oath saith that one day about the
Middle of last Week a person now present who calls himself
William Johnson< no role > came to this Informants House in
Belton Street aforesaid and told this Informant that he
had a Single Horse Chaise to dispose of at the One Bell
in the Strand when this Informant told said Johnson
that it was a Carriage he did not want, and therefore
did not wish to be a Purchaser, after which said
Johnson went awayThat on Tuesday last said
Johnson came to this Informant again and wished
him to look at the said Chaise at the One Bell
aforesaid, when this Informant told him that he
would not purchase it himself, but that he knew
a friend that wanted one, whom, if it would
Suit, he would bringhimdown to look at it. That
Informant then accompanied Said Johnson to the One Bell
to see said Chaise where Informant told him that
he thought it would Suit his Friend [..] whom he
would bring to look at itThat as they were going out
at the Gate Informant asked said Johnson what Price
