is Situate near the Hermitage Bridge open and upon looking
into the Shop he Perceived some person laying upon the
Floor with a White Cloth over his Face Deponent
Immediately went to another Watchmen whose stand is
in in Charlotte Street and informed him he was fear full that
there had been a Murder Committed Deponent also alarmed
Several other persons and with them went into the Shop
and there found the deceased Noderick Macintosh laying
on the Ground Dead with his Throat Cut and Stabbed in
the Body That at the time of Deponents first finding
the Door open he did not go within side the Shop nor
did he perceive any person going in or comeing out thereof That
Deponent does not know how [..] he came
to his Death except only that from the Nature of the
Wounds he received he verily believes he must
have been Murdered by some person or persons Unknown
