in too great a Hurry that he knew a Watchman who
wd. give a better Account of the Girl than he wd. that they
went to the Watchman & acquainted him with what had
happened they then all three went tot he Watch House
to the Constable & acquainted him who said to Eldridge
in order to oblige him he wod. go to the Prisoners Lodgings
in Shorts Gardens & upon knocking at the Door the
People got up & told them the Prisoner had been gone
from their Lodging abt. a Week they then went from
thence & stood still in the Street a few Minutes during
wch. Fine the sd. Eldridge fell< no role >
in his Pocket for his
Handkerchief which was gone the other Watchman
Flim left the sd. Eldridge Depont. and in a few Moments
hearing his Rattle they went & found the sd. Flim had
taken the Prisoner they then all came to the Watch House
she was then searchedbat he did not see any things found

for himself saith that being informed by
one Eldridge that he had been robbed of his Watch &
describing the Person who he suspected they afterwds.
parted & in a few Minuits he discovered the Prisoner
he then sprung his Rattle they came immediately &
went to the Watchhouse upon being interrogated the
Prisoner denyed knowing any thing of the Watch but
said she had a Handkerchief wch. sd. Eldridge gave her
& pulled the same out of her Pocket & gave into him
wch. he delivered to the Constable
