The Information of Ralph Hollingsworth< no role > of Smock
Alley in the Parish of Christ Church Middlesex Butcher
taken this 4th day of Augt 1788 Before me John Staples< no role > Esquire
One of his Majestys Justices of the peace in and for the said County who
being on Oath saith on Saturday Evening last he killed a Grass Laint
One side of which Lamb called the close side was stole from out of
his back Yard sometime between the Hours of One and five Yester
day morn That he is certain the Leg of Lamb produced is the Leg of the
side of Lamb that was Stole as aforesaidFurther saith that Yester
day in the afternoon he received Information the person
present who saith her name is Bridget Gordon had offered
[..] some Lamb to sell which she coald of ford Very cheapSays
about four of the Clock the same afternoon as he was looking out
in Petty coat Lane he saw the said Bridget Gordon< no role > coming along
with something in her Apron Hearted her what she had got
there [..] insisting on Seeing what That on Seeing the
said Leg of Lamb he asked where she got it who said She bought
it at Deptford and gave seven pence a pound for it amounting
to four Shillings and six pence that knowing the said Leg of Lamb
was part of the side of Lamb which he had has robbed off he
secured her and the said Leg of Lamb. John Joyce< no role > servant to
Ralph Hollings worth on his Oath saith he cut up the Lamb of his
said Masters of which Lamb the Leg produced is part

Bridget Gordon< no role > saith on Saturday last about Night of the Clock in the
Morning as she was coming from Deptford near the half way house
she met a man who doth not know crying meet to sell that the
asked him if that he could let her have a Bargain [..] ays she bo [..]
the Leg of Lamb produced of the said man who she gave a pound of
Tea Value Five Shillings and received Six pence of him beside the
said Lamb
