The Informations of Mary the Wife of William Lundin of
Church Lane Whitechapel officer of Excise Sarah the Wife of
Moses Rutlam< no role > of the same place Dealer in Old Cloaths Samuel Morris< no role >
of the same place Mason and Edward Swinney< no role > of the same place Watchman
Who being their Oaths say and first the said Mary Lundin on her Oath saith
Between the hours of Seven and eight she went down stairs ona Vint to a
[..] Mr. Nash a Widow of whom her said Husband Sured the Room they live
at which Time All the Articles produced were safe in the Drawers of the said
Room and Between the hours of Nine and Ten her Daughter called out she could
not open the Door of the Room and soon after she heard the cry of Stop thief Says she
went up Stairs with a friend or Two when she found her Drawers open and the
Two Linnen Sheets [..] Mans Cloth coat Flannel pettycoat White petticoat a
printed cotton gown three Check Shirts five check Aprons One Shawl a
printed Linnen Gown and Coat Two Linnen Shifts all produced in the Bag produced
laying on the floor of the said Room all which Articles are her said husbands property
Sarah Rutlam on her oath saith last night between the hours of Nine and Ten as she
was going out of her own house to the said Mrs. Nash She saw a man getting [..] out
of the Window of the Room where Mrs. Lundin lives that looking at him she thought he
had been robbing the said Room she called stop thief that she thinks the person
present is the said man who says his name is William Bedwell< no role > that on her calling
stop thief that she saw the man who came out of the Window as aforesaid run by
Edward Swinney< no role > who was in the said Lane a few Doors above, Edward Swinney< no role > on
his oath saith last night between the hours of nine and ten as he was going on his
Duty the said William Bedwell< no role > run by him hearing the Cry of Stop thief he pursued him
to Johns Square in the said lane where there is not any thorough [..] and saw Samuel Morris< no role >
pursuing said [..] William Bedwell< no role > who had run down said Square that said Morris and
himself took the said William Bedwell< no role > in a NecessarySamuel Morris< no role > says
about half an hour after nine last night Mrs. Rutlam told him Mrs. Lundin had
been robbed by a man who had dropt from the penthouse of Mrs. Nash says he pursued
and Swinneythetold him the man was gone down Johns Square that he went down
the Square with Swinney and found William Bedwell< no role > in the necessary who they apprehended
says the Prisoner tryed to get away and could not

William Bedwell< no role > says last night about the hour of Eight he went into Rosemary
Lane to buy a pair of Stockings and as he was returning home to Whitechapel high Street
coming up Church long he went down John Square< no role > to a necessary to ease himself and after he
had been there about three minutes he heard a Cry of Stop Thief and some people coming
down the Square after himthat Samuel Morris< no role > came into the Necessary to him and said
come out I will take gow on suspicion of a Robbery being committedThat he refered to
go saying he had done no robbery
