The Information of James Horns by
Taken the 5th: day of January 1787
Who upon Oath Saith That he is Servant to Mr.
John Mackice the corner of Holborn
in the Parish
of Saint Giles in the fields
Linnen Draper
That about
the hour of 5. oClock this afternoon a Woman now in
Custody who says her Name is Catherine Henry< no role >
Came into his Masters Shop and asked for a Nail
of Lawn and she was informed by his Master they
did not Cut so small a Quantity.That upon the
Counter in the Shop were lying a quantity of
Muslin Shawls and he had Suspicion she had
taken some away and upon her Cloak being turned
on one side the Shawls now produced were observed
by him to be under her left Arm and upon being
Detected she dropt the same on the floor in the
Shop That the said Shawls were privately Stolen
and are of the Value of Fifty Shillings and the property
of the said John Mackie< no role >
and he Secured the said
Catherine Henry< no role >
and had her Taken before a Justice
