The voluntary Examination and
Confession of Samuel Watson< no role >
apprenticed to William Richardson< no role >
of Clare Street Cabinet Maker
taken before me this 6th. day of
September 1787 .

Who says that he knows Daniel Wallis< no role > now present
who lives in Void Street Clare Market and Keeps an Old
Iron Shop That about three Mouths ago he met said Waters
in Douzell Street whoes said Waters ask'd this Examinant
if his Master Mr. William Richardson< no role > now present did
not sell Bed ticks that Examinant replied His That said
Waters then asked this Examinant if he could get one and
being it to him adding that he would give him something
for it That Examinant replied he would if he could That
either the same day or the day after this Examinant took
a second hand bed tick out of his Masters Shop Window and
carried is to said Waters's House where he saw said Waters's
Wife is horn he asked where Waters was, that She said he
was in bed and conducted this Examinant to him in a back
Room where he found him in bed That said Waters look'd
at said bed Tick gave this Examinant three Shillings for
it and put it into his bed desiring this Examinant to bring
him another as soon as he could That about a Fortnight
after this this Examinant took another second hand Bed
tick out of his Masters Shop Window between five and six
o'Clock in the Morning which he likewise carried to said
Waters's House whom he found in bed as before when said
Waters gave him five Shillings for the Same saying that
"he could not afford any more" but desired this Examinant
to bunk him another or any thing else as soon as he
could that about three Weeks after this this Examinant
took two bedside Carpets out of his Masters Shop Window
which he put into the Bag now produced mark'd B.D.B. and Carried
