The Information of Mrs. Mary Marfield< no role >
taken Upon Oath this 10th day of July
1787 Who Saith that on Wednesday Evening last
About half past ten o'Clock this Informant went into Mr.
Carter Shop and Asked her how She did, Mr. Carton Said
very well, This Informant wished her a good night up which
was the last time She Saw her Alive, this Informant
went down Stairs on Thursday Morning and Saw Mrs.
Carter door open, and Returned Immediatly up Stairs
About ten o'Clock the Same Morning this Informant
came down for Some Water and found the Wooden Cock of
the Water Tub not in the Same State it was in the night
before, the Same Evening Thursday about half past eight
this Informant heard Mr. Carter came home and Abused
Mrs. Currie very much, in a Short time Carter came
up Stairs and Asked this Informant if She had Seen
his Wife She Answered No, nor heard of her, he then said
if ever She Returned Meaning his Wife, he wend with
many, Informations [..] Chop off her Arms and Legs
to Returned down Stairs Swearing to himself, Mrs
Currie in a Short time After went down Stairs and
commenced with Carter, about nine o'Clock this Informant
went down and Asked Mrs. Currie and Carter if they
had Seen Carter Wife, Carter Answered no, and Said he
Wife And he had been parting Along time, but now
had Intirely Parted and won'd Marry this Informant
to Morrow with all his heart, this Informant Answered
and told him to Mind his Wife and then parted, Carter
Returned home this Same Evening about half past Eleven
and knocked at the door and this Informant let him in
and Said So you are come in he Answered I did not
