The Information of John Smith< no role > of Whitechapel
Road Side Broker and John Wood< no role > of Lamb Court same place
Waterman and Lighterman taken this 27th. day of June 1787

Who being on Oath say and first the said John Smith< no role > for himself says about
Five or Six Weeks since he let a Lodging ready furnished to William Hamilton< no role >
and his Wife at Two Shillings and Three pence P Week That he gave them possession
of said Lodging consisting of a Room in which Room were one Bed and Bolster
one pair of Linnen Streets And One Blanket his property let as aforesaid
Says in the night of the Nineteenth Instant. The said William Hamilton< no role > and Wife
Left his said Lodging and in the Forenoon of the neat day he found that said
Lodging had been robbed of the abovementioned articles and that he Verily
Believes the said William Hamilton< no role > is the person who robbed him as
aforesaid

The said John Wood< no role > on his Oath says Tuesday night was a Week or
on the Wednesday Morning early as he was standing at the Door of a house
at Whitechapel Road Side near the House of the said John Smith< no role > he saw
a man coming along the Foot Path [..] with a Blanket in which as
appeared to him by the Bulk to be a Bed-Says he verily believes the
person present who says his Name is William Hamilton< no role > is the same
person who he saw as aforesaid

The said William Hamilton< no role > says he is Innocent of the Charge and that he only took
his own Things away with himThat he has been to sea which he left
about Two Years Since and has employed himself in going about with
Fish and doing what he could for a Lively hood
