Who being upon Oath says and first the said Samuel
Barnes< no role >
says that on Wednesday night last was sevenight between the hours of twelve and one he by appointment
met aperson now present who calls herself Ruth Mercer< no role >
in
Exeter Street
near the Strand
that he went with her to the
Key Bagnis in Princes Street
Drury Lane
that they went
to bed together, but that he this Informant fastened the
door of the room in which they lay that in about half an hour after they were in bed
said Ruth Mercer< no role >
observed to him, that she must get up
and go away, as she had a particular friend to meat
that she then got up dressed herself and went away
that he is very sure at the time he went to Bed with
her, he had in his right hand breeches pocket three Guineas
and an half Guinea in Moneyand that he put his
Metal Watch upon a Table in the Room that suspecting
said Mercer to have some Particular Reason for quitting
him, he searched his Breeches Pockets and looked on
the Table, when he found his said Watch and Money gone
