The Information of Thomas Crosby< no role > of Endfield
in the County of Middlesex Baker taken on
Oath beforemeus John Staples< no role > and Samul Hawking< no role > SquireoneTwo of His
Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said
County the 25th. day of February 1786

Who being on his Oath saith that on thursday night
last between the Hour of Ten and Eleven at Night
having been to see an Acquaintance in Darby Street
Rosemary Lane and going along Rosemary Lane
he met the person now present who says her Name
is Margaret Bunn< no role > that he asked her his Way
into Bishopgate Street and offered to pay her for
& Shewing him there, said she would that the place was
Just by that the said Margaret Brean< no role > Inticed him
into a House in a place called Back alley in Cable
Street St. George Middlesex as this Informant is
Informed under pretence of lighting a Candle
that when she got him therein she shut the door
and presently after the man now present who says
his Name is Thomas Patrick< no role > who dema [..] came into the [..] Room got between
the door and this Informant and said that he
this Informant should not go out unless he
paid him Seven Shillings and Six pence on
which the said Margaret Burn< no role > said it should
be double - That on this Informants refusing
to comply the said Margaret Burn< no role > by force
proceeded to rifle his pockets whilst the
said Thomas Patrick< no role > stood with his Back
against the Door to prevent his going out
