Maketh Oath That on Thursday last
about the hour of half past 6 o'Clock in the Evening
as he was Coming up Holborn in Company witt
Mr. Duncan Robinson< no role > of Bakers Row white
Chappell Victualler and near to Newton Street
Holborn he Caught the Hand of a person now in
Custody who says his Name is Michael Walker< no role >
in his left hand pocket upon which this Deponent
Seized hold of the said Michael Walker< no role > by
the Collar and Charged him with it but he desired it
and upon Searching his pocket he found his pocket Book
was gone whereupon the said Duncan Robinson
assisted this Deponent in Securing the said Michael
Walker< no role > and Walker said he would go and Certained
before a Magistrate who lived down Smarts buildings
near to the above place when Walker resisted
and said he would not go any farther and rescued
himself from him upon which he Struck him
with a Stick and then another person came up
to Walkers Assistance and Struck at him but
did [..] not Touch him and this Deponent then
Struck him with a Stick and a general Saffle
ensued and the said Walker and the others made
their Escape That upon his friend Duncan Robinson
Coming to his Assistance he was Violently Cut
