for the
County of Middlesex
, this 11th, Day of September
17 86
Who saith that about three weeks ago he was taken
into Custody and carried before a Justice of the Peace
at East Smithfield
. That whilst he remained there in
Custody One of the Officers belonging to that Office whose
Name he had since heard and believes is Dawson demanded
two shillings from him, but not having any Money to pay said
Dawson he said Dawson took a Pair of Stone Knee Buckles out of this Examinant Breeches
Knees that there was a Stone out of one of them near one of the
Corners that they were set in gold or yellow Metal that he bought
them about three Years ago at Blackwall
from one Levy, who
travels about for half a Guinea that he does not know where said
Levy lives, but would know him again That the Buckles now
produced are to the best of this Examinant's Knowledge and belief
the same Buckles which were so taken from him by said Dawson
as aforesaid
