Middlesex to Wit


The Information of William Richardson< no role > of Golden Green Hendon
in the County of Middlesex Farmer , James Painter< no role > of Edgward
W. Painter Labourer John Stopps< no role > of Golden Green Victualler and
Anthony Aslat< no role > of Golden Green aforesaid Carpenter taken
before me this 8th. day of August 1786

Who being upon Oath say and first the said William Richardson< no role > Saith
that about three oClock yesterday afternoon he was informed by Robert Stopps< no role > on
of John Stopps< no role > of Golden Green aforesaid and now present that two Men were
driving his Geese from his (this Informant field) into a Mr. Gees Field adjourning [..]
that he followed in pursuit of them and came up with said Geese
which were twenty five in Number that he observed two Men driving
said Geese, but their being at that time at a distance from him he
could not discover who they were that said two Men soon afterwards
as this Informant believes from their being pursued, concealed themselves
so that he lost sight of them The said James Painter< no role > says that about
three o'Clock yesterday afternoon he saw a person now present who calls
himself William Buckland< no role > closets an Hedge in affield at Golden Green
that he was driving several Geese before him at this time that he soon
afterwards informed said John Stopps< no role > of the same and after drinking with
him, he with said Stoppsreturnedwent to said Field when he saw another
person now present who calls himself William Lewin< no role > in company with
said Buckland driving said Geese along but perceiving this Informant
and said Stopps watching and followinghimthem they endeavoured to
run away that said Stopps and Informant pursued them and
apprehend said Buckland in the Ditch of a field at Hendon where
he had thrown himself in order to be concealed and that about two
fields distant in a Ditch under some thorns Briars and Nottles he
with said Potts apprehended said Lewin The saidAuther [..]
JohnPuStopps says that he was with said Painter at this time and
assisted him in the apprehension of said Lewin & Buckland as
aforesaid and the said Anthony Aslatt< no role > says that he was also at
this time present and Saw said Buckland and Lewin driving said Geese
along as aforesaid and wasatpresent at the time of said Buckland
and Lewin apprehension when they were concealed
