The Information of John Philpot< no role > of Isleworth in
the County of Middlesex Callico Printer Samuel
Charnourean
< no role > Servant to Jonathan Matthews< no role > Servant
of the Minories in the City of London Pawnbroker , and
Elizabeth Thompson< no role > of Cable Street Rosemary Lane
Spinster taken before me this 9th. day of August 1786 .

Who being upon Oath say and first the said John Philpot< no role > says that in the
Night of the first of June last or early in the morning of the Second a piece
of printed Callico was feloniously Stolen from his Bleaching Ground at Isleworth in the
County of Middlesex and further says he is very sure that some Callico made
up into a Gown now produced by Samuel Charnoureaw< no role > is part of said piece
of Callies so Stolen from his Bleaching Ground as aforesaid, And said Samuel
Charnourean
< no role > says that on the 22nd. of July last the Callico Gown now produced
by him was Pawned at his Masters Shop by Eleanor Daily< no role > now present for
twelve shillings who said it was her Own And the said Elizabeth Thompson< no role >
says that about two Months ago she went to the New Gaol in the Borough
to see one Leonard Dyer< no role > a Convict that whilst she was him a Person now
present who calls himself Boze Venner< no role > in company with another Man in
a White Jacket whose Name she knows not came to see said Dyer that on the following day as she
was walking Over Tower Hill she met said Venner and the other Man his
Companion when Venner asked her "how she did" Informant replied "how are you"
that one of them asked her if she would buy a piece of Cotton, Venners companion
at that time having under his Arm two pieces or Remnants of Callico of the
same Pattern with the Gown now produced that Informant told them that
she could purchase as much as would make a Childs Frock, but if there was
more she had not Money to do it, that whilst they were in Conversation Eleanor
Daily
< no role > now present came up and asked this Informant if she had anything
to sell, Informant replied that she had not when either Venner or his
companion told said Eleanor Daily they had two pieces of Cotton to Sell and
delivered said two pieces to her; that said Eleanor Daily [..] ired them to
go with her, when they all accompanied her to her House at the back of the
Red Cross in the Minories , where, the two pieces of Cotton being Opened in the
