I and taken before me Nicholas Bond< no role > Esqr :
one of his MAJESTY'S Justices of the Peace for the said
City and Liberty County of Middlesex this 10th. Day of June
17 86

Who Saith [..] that between two and three Years ago he
became acquainted with a person now present who
calls himself John Campbell< no role > at Spanish Town in Jamaica , then
doing duty in the 60th. Regiment of foot at that place (as he
believes) as an Ensign -that said Campbell appeared to be of
Governor Campbells Family at this time, at whose Table
this Examinant frequently dined with him-that about
six Weeks from this period, this Examinant met said
Campbell in Cockspur Street , when said Campbell observed
that he was glad to see him and asked him where he
lived, when Examinant replied at No.14 Suffolk Street
that said Campbell observed that he lived at No. 42 in
Suffolk Street -that the believes that the Signature
to the Letter of Attorney now produced is a forgery-that
he believes from a Letter that he hath received that Campbell
is gone to Scotland and further saith that on Saturday the
3rd. instant he was satisfied that Campbells Letter of Attorney
was a Forgery
