The Information of Peter Skee< no role > No. 2 little Hermitage Street in the Parish
of Saint George Middlesex Grocer Sarah< no role > the Wife of Joseph Burges< no role > of
Dog Street Deptford Labourer . and William Goodman< no role > Dry Shopman to Mr. Dry of
Deptford aforesaid in the County of Kent . Pawnbroker Taken this Eleventh day of May 1785
before us Two of his Majestys Justices of the peace in and for the said County

Who being upon their Oaths severally and respectively say and first the said Peter Skee< no role > for
himself saith That on the sixteenth day of March Last John Shergold< no role > and Mary Johnson< no role > Two
Prisoners now presesnt came to this Informant as Man and Wife to Lodge at his house and
Continued in such Lodging until the first day of April when Informant turned them away
as being Troublesome people. That about four days after they were gone Informant Missed
Two Striped Linen Shirts, one white ditto and one white Dimity Waistcoat now produced out of a Chest
that stood in the Room lately occupied by the said John and Mary,and
And the said Sarah Burges< no role > for herself Saith that on the thirty first day of March last
the said John Shergold< no role > (whom she had known some time before) came to her and desired
her to pledge for him the Three Shirts and Waistcoat abovementioned, which she did at
the Shop of Mr. William Dry< no role > abovementioned for the Sum of nine Shillings in the
Name of Mr. Johnson four shillings of which she paid to to redeem a Gown and Petticoat
Pledged some time before in the name of [..] the said Mary Johnson< no role > . and which was
done by the request of the prisoner ShergoldAnd the said William Goodman< no role >
for himself Saith that on the thirty first day of March last. he received the three Shirts
and Waistcoat now produced by him from Informant Burges. that he lent her nine
Shillings on them and gave a duplicate for the same in the name of Mr. Johnson
