came out of the Ship
into this Informants Boat and ordered him to put Off and row him to
Ratcliff Cross
which he did and when he arrived at Ratcliff
Cross
they both Kept out of the Boat and ordered Informant to
Stop, That they then went up the Causeway into the Street and
returned in about two Minutes, and told Informant to give
them the Copper out of the Boat, when Informant told them he
could not left it out by himself, That one of them then came into
the Boat and handed the Copper out to the other man who was
on the Causeway, and when the Copper was there, the man who
was in the Boat stepped out when one of them went up the Stairs
(andthe other staying by the Copper) andwhoreturning soon after they
both took the Copper and Carried it to the Tap of the Causeway
And this Informant lastly Saith that An being applied to by
the said two men he had not the least Idea of their Intention
To Rob the said Ship Whit by of the Articles abovenamed and that
he had no prospect of receiving or was promised by the said two
men any Kind of reward Money or other Gratuity whatever excepting
the Three Shillings so demanded by him as and for his Fare aforesaid
and which he Considered himself Intitled to from the Lateness of
the Hour.
