before me this 6th. day of May 1784

Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Elizabeth
Hill< no role > says that on the 31st. day of May last between six and seven oClock
in the Evening a person now present who calls himself Thomas
Tyler< no role > Taylor came to this Informants House in White Hart Yard
aforesaid and asked her if she could oblige him with four or
five Gunieas worth of Silver and said that he was the Foreman
of Mr. Mortiner Scowerer in Little Drury Lane and that if she
could oblige him the said Mr. Mortimer with as much silver
every Saturday Night they would certainly be very good
Customers to which this informant replied that she thought it
odd that the Publican where Mr. Mortimer used did not let him
have SilverThat said Tyler said that his Master had been disappointed
by his Publican two or three times and that he meant to use
this Informants House provided she could supply him then with
Silver for 4 or 5 GuineasThat she asked said Tyler for his
Gold when he answered he would go and fetch it immediately
and went awayThat in about three Quarters of an Hour afterwards
said Tyler returned to this Informant who was then in the
Bar and asked if the Change was ready to which this Informant
replies that it was That she then pet down 3 Guineas
worth of Silver and two half Guineas on the Table and said Tyler asked her if she could
let him have two Half Guineas in Gold as that would compleat
himThat she went up Stairs to fetch said two Half Guineas and returning again
he met her on the Stairs (apparently in a great hurry) and
forcibly took out of her Hand said two half Guineas and ran away
