taken on Oath before me one of his Majestys Justices of
the Peace
in and for the said County the 28th. day of October 1783.
This Informant John Le< no role >
Febure on his Oath Saith That he is
Foreman to Mr. Jemet a Merchant
in Spital Square
in the Liberty
of Norton Felgate and that he lives and resides in a Dwelling house
belonging to the said Mr. Jennet in White Lyon Street
in the Parish
of Christ Church
And saith That on Saturday Morningandthe
25th. of October Instant he discovered that a Quantity of Lead have
been stolen from of the Warehouse belonging to the Premisses [..] where
this Informant lives in White Lyon [..] street
aforesaid. And this
Informant further Saith that he hath compared a Quantity
of Lead now produced and that the same is a part of the Lead
so stolen from of the Warehouse as aforesaid
And this Informant Samuel Yardley< no role >
saith That on Friday
Morning last he saw James Maneky< no role >
the Prisoner now
under Examination in Browns Lane Spital Fields
with a
Bag on his shoulder and that he knowing the said James Maneley< no role >
to be of a suspicious Character this Informant asked him what
be got, to which the Prisoner made Answer he had got same Lead
which he had formedasin a house in King Street
Spital Fields
this Informant then told him he next go with him to Justice
Wilmot to see if they could not get on owner for it, This Informant
then sent two Officers to search his Appartments where they found
a Quantity of Lead concealed therein, And further Saith that the
two pieces of Lead marked No.1. & 2. are the same pieces of Lead
which he found on the said James Manaky< no role >
