taken and made on
Oath before me one of his Majesty's Justices
of the peace
in and for the said County the
28th. day of October 1783.
Who on his Oath saith that he lately lived as a servant
with Mr. John Button< no role >
Farmer
at Grays aforesaid whose
source he left at old Michaelmas day and on Wednesday
last came to Town to get a place. And saith that on
Thursday Evening last about six o'clock as this informant
was going across a Fields adjoining Old Ford Lane in the
Parish of saint Mathew Bethnal Green

the Prisoner now here present
and another Man at present unknown to this Informant
he was assaulted by the said two Men and robbed by
them of one silver Watch twoonesilk Handkerchiefs two
pair of worsted stockings one Goren Shirt and his hat his
property And saith that the said John Austin< no role >
took the
[..] Handkerchief which was round his Neck, off and
put in his pocket and seized hold of him by his legs
and threw him on the Ground the said other Man where
Name is unknown to him at the same true cutting at him
and wounding him in several places with Cutlass
and feather saith that the Silk Handkerchief and pair
of Worsted stockings now produce are part of the same
Things which were Stolen from him as aforesaid
