William Warren< no role > late Master of His Majestys Ship Hercules
John Hodge< no role > [..] late a Midshipman of the same Shyr
John Harris< no role > Excise officer, and Edward Hudson< no role > , Waterman
now Prisoners in his Majestys Goal of Newgate jointly and severally
Make Oath That on Friday the Twelfth Day of September last being
the Third Day of the last Sessions of Oyer and Terminer and general
Goal delivery for Newgate aforesaid they these Deponents were
apprehended and taken into Custody by virtue of a Warrant under
the Hornd of Peter Green< no role > Esquire one of his Majestys Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middlesex upon the sole Information
of one William Jffery upon a Charge of being present aiding and
assisting in carrying away from on board the Arend op Zee a Dutch
Prize then laying in the River Thomas Eighteen Bags of Cofee of the
value of Eighteen Pounds and these Deponents say that they have remained
in close Custody ever since the said Twelth Day of September and
notwithstanding the Grand Jury for the County of Middlesex was
not discharged from their attendancethe lastSessions until
after the apprehending of these Deponents as aforesaid no Bill of
Indictment was preferred against these Deponents any or either of
them for the said offence so alledged or for any other Matter or Thing
untill Yesterday afternoon And these Deponents Fuather say that
Lawrence Gardner< no role > Thomas Dennis< no role > Richard James< no role > Nathaniel Settled
Edward Warren< no role > Mariners late employed on board the said Ship
