The Information of James Haskins< no role >

taken and made on Oath before me one of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County the
25th. day of September 1782.

This Informant on his Oath Saith That as he was going
home from Edmonton Fair on Tuesday the 17th. day of September
Instant about half an Hour after Nine OClock at night he
was over taken on the road between the Bird Cage at Stamford
Hill and Stoke Newington by a Man who Struck him over
the head with a Stick, This Informant immediately turned
round and asked him what it was that he struck for, he made
no Answer, but struck again with the Stick on the right Arm
then Informant struck at him with his hand and Knocked
him down, and immediately another man came up this
Informant and drew a Hanger or Cutlass his Face and hand
Informant at many different place over his Face and hand
[..] which that was doing the man he had before Knocked down
got [..] up and Immediately Knocked this Informant down
again and repeatedly by beat him over the head body and Arms
in a violent manner till he was almost dead and then
they [..] him after having taken from his person one half
Crown piece a Sixpence some half pence and a knife
And this Informant further Saith that Richard Stephens< no role > now
under Examination is the man who came upto this
Informant and cut him in the manner above set forth in
this his Information.
