this 18th. day of June 1782
Who being upon Oath say and first the said Ralph Smith< no role >
says that a Brown Mare now produced whichwaswas found by his
Son in the possession of the said Charles Dibley< no role >
is this Informants
property and was stolen out of his Stable at Battle Bridge
in
the said County on Sunday last was sevenightThat the
next morning when he went to look for his said Mare he found
the hasp of the Stable Door loose and the Mare gone and is very
sure that the said Stable Door was fastened with the Hasp the night
before it was stolenAnd the said Charles Dibley< no role >
says that on
Monday last was sevenight about ½ past 10 in the morning he
bought the said Mare in Bedford Street Covent Garden
of a
person now present who calls himself Joseph Sutton< no role >
and paid
him sixteen shillings for the sameThat said Sutton told this
Informant that the said Brown Mare was his Father's property
who lived in Tothill fields
That his said Father hadhadher 3
Years, but was now distressed and must parttowith her.
