The several Informations of John Edwards< no role > and
John Hutton< no role > Taken and made on Oath before as Two
ourof his Majestys Justices of the Peace in and for the
said County the first day of May 1782

This Informant John Edwards< no role > for himself saith That he
is a Taylor and lives No. 13 Charles Court in the Strand , That on
Sunday Morning last about the hour of 5. oClock he this Informant
was met in Baw Street Covent Garden by one William Singleton< no role >
That the said William Singleton< no role > accosted him and said if he this
Informant would go with him, he would Take him to a public
House where he should be used Civilly, That this Informant
went with the said Wm. Singleton accordingly to a Public House
But where the said House was Situated this Informant
does not knows That they drank some Beer together and
continued in such house for the Space of One hour and an half
or thereaboutsThat this Informant was not quite Sober
and was DozingThat the said William Singleton< no role > was Sitting
down by him and he found his Hand in his this Informants
Breeches pocket, upon which the said William Singleton< no role > [..]
[..] got off his Seat to go away, when this Informant
having a Suspicion that he was Robbed called to him to Stop
for he wanted to Speak to him but instead of his doing so
He ran away and this Informant ran after him and Called
Stop Thief That the said William Singleton< no role > was Stopped and
Searched by a Constable to whom he gave him Charge for
Robbing him And this Informant saith That he was Robbed
of Two half Crowns in Silver One piece of Base Metal
purporting to be an half Crown and about Two Shillings in Silver

And this Informant John Hutton< no role > for himself Saith
That he is a constable and that about he hour of Seven oClock
on Sunday Morning last he was Called up (being them in Bed)
to Take Charge of a Person for Felony, That he went with
the above named John Edwards< no role > to Red Lyon Street Holborn
