11th. day of May 1782
Who being upon Oath say and first the said William Fidgen for
himself says that on Thursday Morning last between 3 & 4 o'Clock he saw
Henry Hurford< no role >
now present carrying a Quantity of Lead now produced
in the Back Lane
leading from Aylie Street Whitechapel
to Cannon Street
Road, that the said Henry Hurford< no role >
seeing this Informant coming towards
him threw the said Lead over some Pales and went away but this Informant
following him and seiring hold of him the said Henry Hurford< no role >
offered to
give this Informant some Liquor to let him go, that the said Henry
Hurford< no role >
did afterwards make his Escape from this informant but was
pursued and retaken, and the said John Gardner< no role >
for himself says that
has [..] compared the said Lead at a house at the Corner of James
[..] eet in [..] of the George belonging to Mr. John Brassett and is
very sure that the said Lead was stolen and ripped off from the said
House, and the said Alexander Thompson< no role >
for himself says that
on Wednesday last he was at the said House (having men at Work there)
and is very sure that at that Time the said Lead was fixed to the
said House and was not then taken away
